[p4ruby] on ruby-1.9.x

For 1.9, you'll need to build it yourself.
The p4ruby gem was created by someone independently of Perforce and just tries to download the p4ruby18 installer from Perforce's ftp site and run it.
It would definitely make sense for Perforce to put P4Ruby in the gems repository though (and maintain it).

Anybody up for a p4ruby on 1.9 discussion?
I've been working to get p4ruby on 1.9.3p0, with the 11.1 p4 api this appears to install fine when doing the manual install. No patch needed.
However, 'gem install p4ruby' appears to hang.
I'll be poking at this today. Ideally p4ruby should just be in a a Gemfile for some project and install via bundler.
But at least a manual install works. So this is really a discussion on the gem install issue (aka convenience issue).
