MS Visual Studio/C++ and Perforce integration

So far, I've just run the Perforce installer (perforce.exe, from the FTP
site) on any machine that also needs Dev Studio integration. This sets
up the necessary variables and the installer should handle any Win 95
vs. Win NT issues, such as where env. vars. are defined. I think that
having the GUI installed is a good thing for Dev Studio users, since
they can use it browse the depot easily.

The Win32 command line and GUI clients can use a Peforce area in the
registry for variable settings, so env. vars. aren't absolutely
required, although they are supported (and override Perforce registry
settings). See the "p4 set" command.

The one thing I've noted is that any files that are to be under source
control in Dev Studio must appear in a project in the workspace. Just
because someone can File->Open a source file doesn't mean that it will
be controlled.
