Perforce wish list

Perforce could help this by having protections on groups just like on files
so you could allow someone to edit a specific group but they could not
change protections.

I was thinking about creating a file for each group and granting access to
it as appropriate and then have a superuser review deamon change the actual
perforce groups. I haven't done it because it isn't that much hassle to
maintain them manualy yet.

I actually think that the protections scheme needs a bigger rework.
The biggest problem for me is that I can't give project leaders
"Full control" of their own projects without making them
superusers for the entire server.
So, for me, UNIX or NT style access lists are the model I'd
like to see adopted.

I second that request. As our network has grown, so have the number of=

subnet IP addresses, causing our protections list (which had gone on a
successful diet thanks to p4 groups) to bloat again. We're also seeing=

groups of subnets that require different protections, so p4 ipgroup
functionality would be just the ticket.
