Job Duties: Manage the Software Configuration Management / Build process for
all product development efforts including change control, builds, and
releases, for a Infrastructure Management product suite. Engineer and
implement processes for software change control, builds, and release. This
must include documented processes including procedures and templates
supported by a mix of third party and in-house tools. Oversee the
development of internal development tools including a full internal tools
development lifecycle, requirements gathering, design, and support. These
include tools for build/release tasks, SCM audits, and recording/reporting
metrics. Manage a team of SCM Engineers who execute the SCM process and
develop tools. Provide training and documentation for tools and processes.
Participate in Software Change Request for control of software and
operational procedures.
Position Scope: Supervisory: Yes
Number of Direct Reports: 3 
Performance in 6 to 12 months Assist and lead the CM Team in automating all
product build and packaging efforts. Implement innovative software solutions
to help strengthen the CM Team environment and promote rapid development.
Attributes / Skills Required: 5+ years in a in a multi-platform production
environment running builds, creating releases, and/or administering a SCM
system. Knowledgeable with UNIX, NT build and SCM issues.Must be proficient
in writing shell scripts (csh, ksh, perl, etc...). Must be proficient in
writing and modifying Makefiles, with knowledge of C and Java. Expertise
knowledge in one of the mainstream SCM tools, such as CVS, Perforce,
Clearcase, Continuus, or PVCS. Able to work with multiple projects
simultaneously. Able to work well both independently and as a team member.
Good communication and writing skills. Experience Required: Requires a
degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
