Some software licensing systems can provide software version inventory
information such as this, since they already are reporting relevent
information to the licensing system when they determine if the client user
has sufficient right to use the software. I do not know if Perforce uses a
licensing system with that capability, but it certainly would be worth
asking/requesting. This is a VERY common issue, which is why software
licensing products provide this capability.
