This was, in fact, what I did. I was (mistakenly) under the
impression that I would have had to pay to get MPW, but some kind
soul informed me that Apple was giving it away for free. So now I
have MPW and the P4 client installed on my G3 Lombard, and it's
quite snappy, thank-you very much!
