That was certainly what I was hoping there was. I hope the folks
at Perforce can add "p4 checkpoint" or something that updates the
depot with your changeset, and then (essentially) sets you with a
changeset exactly identical to the checkpointed one, whilst
maintaining your lock on the files...
It really shouldn't be all that difficult... (he said completely
naively), since the underlying RCS versioning engine supports it
as an atomic operation...
