[p4] Question on making a checkpoint/journal .... another disk

We're currently schedule to make a checkpoint every morning at 4:00 with
the following command
     /export/perforce/bin/p4d -r /shared/perforce/P4D -jc
Everything seems to be alright...the only problem is that the journal
and the checkpoint files ate up lot of space.
How can I have these journal and checkpoint files save on a seperate
disk?

BTW, our perforce server is located on an Unix machine, and we're using
99.1
