[p4] rose/C++ 2000 and perforce - hangs on startup - help !

Wonder if anyone can help ?
... since we upgraded to Rose 2000 (from Rose 98), whenever we start it up,
it displays a perforce dialog box (via the SCC interface I guess) and then
promptly hangs. Has anyone else experienced this ? OS is NT sp5 and Win2K
SR1
Perforce version is 2000.2.19464 (Dec 20 2000), and Rose/C++ version is
2000.2.149.00 (May 2000)
... thanks in advance for any advice...
