Forgive me for asking, but what is the underlying problem that this
thread is trying to solve? The open source community develops
interdependent components everyday using CVS. I can't imagine that
Perforce is the problem (or the solution).

Can someone come up with a short usecase for the problem? It would help
me a great deal.
