Absolutely. In fact, if you want to migrate a server between Linux and
windows, the only way to move the metadata is to create a checkpoint and
restore it on the other machine.

Subject: [p4] can Linux and windows servers share checkpoint/journal?

Hi,
my perforce server is a Linux box. I am thinking to set up another server as
a perforce backup. Unfortunately the only server that can be used as a
backup is a windows 2000. My question is if the checkpoint and journal
generated by the Linux server can be used by the windows server?

Thanks in advance!

Erin
