[p4] P4Web & RSS

I have not upgraded to 2006.1 yet, but from earlier experiences with RSS I suspect that this has something to do with MIME types.

Internet Explorer, FireFox and Safari are known for having trouble with the MIME type 'application/rss+xml'. They require the feed to be served as 'text/xml'. Opera, on the other hand, has no problems with 'application/rss+xml'.

I suggest that you open the feed in Opera. If Opera doesn't choke, it's probably a MIME type issue. I don't know whether or not Perforce has made this configurable.

Subject: [p4] P4Web & RSS

Hi,

I installed the new version of P4Web because I noticed it now creates
RSS feeds. However, I can't get the URLs it creates:

http://ourinternalserver.com:16789/@md=d&cd=//&c=NKA&pat=//depot/project
/Foo/...@//?ac=164&fl=-i&mx=50.p4webrss.xml

To actually be opened in any RSS reader I've tried. Firefox,
SharpReader, and Safari all seem to choke on it. Has anyone else gotten
theirs to work?

 -Ken
