[p4] problem in sync operation with label

The only thing I see in question is using the trailing slash before the ...

So try this instead:
p4 sync -f //depot/abc/xyz/... at newLabel

And report back if it works or not.

It gives me the list of files those are in newLabel. 
   
  //depot/abc/xyz/1.cpp
  //depot/abc/xyz/2.cpp
  //depot/abc/xyz/3.cpp
  //depot/abc/asd/1.cpp
