[p4] Revisioning of specs?

It's called a spec depot. Just create it. Any future changes to anything
with a spec will be logged.

A spec depot is a special depot of type spec. I also gave mine the name
spec. Not sure if this confuses the issue, or makes things easier.

You can find out about spec depots in the System Administrator's Guide.
I am on p. 65 in the 2005.2 version of this doc. Just check the index if
you are using some other version.

Here is my spec depot:

C:\Build>p4 depot -o spec
# A Perforce Depot Specification.
#
# Depot: The name of the depot.
# Owner: The user who created this depot.
# Date: The date this specification was last modified.
# Description: A short description of the depot (optional).
# Type: Whether the depot is 'local', 'remote', or 'spec'.
# Address: Connection address (remote depots only).
# Suffix: Suffix for all saved specs (spec depot only).
# Map: Path translation information (must have ... in it).
#
# Use 'p4 help depot' to see more about depot forms.

Subject: [p4] Revisioning of specs?

I heard that there was a feature that can be enabled to cause all specs
to
be revisioned. I'd like to know more about this. What and where can I
read
about it and how does it work? Currently we are checking in a text file
of
our client specs. If this is supported 'natively', I'd like to hear
about
it.

TIA
