The place I found it was in the Practical Perforce book, Chapter 6, page
150, "Saving and Restoring Specs".

According to the text, you create an area for the specs by using

P4 depot specs

To create a spec depot named "specs".

When the form opens, make the "type" field "spec".

According to the text, once that's saved, every time a spec for a label,
client, user, or another kind of object is saved, a copy of it will be
placed in the spec depot.

I just turned it on recently but, to be honest, haven't really messed with
it much yet.

Subject: [p4] Revisioning of specs?

I heard that there was a feature that can be enabled to cause all specs to
be revisioned. I'd like to know more about this. What and where can I read
about it and how does it work? Currently we are checking in a text file of
our client specs. If this is supported 'natively', I'd like to hear about
it.

TIA
