For the simple sake of historical accuracy, ClearCase was originally developed by Apollo Computers for internal revision control and was known as DSEE (Domain Software Engineering Environment - pronounced "Dizzy").
When Hewlett-Packard bought Apollo in '89 (idiotic corporate decision to keep asian competitor Sony from getting into the workstation market space - but that's another rant), a group of Apollo employees wanting little or nothing to do with HP went on to form Atria and enhanced/repackaged DSEE as ClearCase.
