The P4HOST environment variable is to override the Host: field in the
Perforce client. For example, if my Perforce client says it is for
machine "FOO", and I'm on machine "BAR" and I want to use that
particular client, I set P4HOST="BAR".
As it states in the Perforce User's Guide:
<http://perforce.com/perforce/doc.061/manuals/p4guide/02_config.html#1081928>
P4HOST: Hostname of the client workstation. Only useful if the Host:
field of the current client workspace has been set in the p4 client
form.
Are you sure you're talking about P4HOST? I have never used it, but I
can't imagine "p4win" resetting it. Was it set in your Registry under
H_CURRENT_USER/Software/Perforce/Environment or was it set under the
System Control Panel under the Environment variables?
