[p4] P4 Proxy as remote depot?

Is it possible to map a P4 proxy server as a remote depot?

For instance - We have a Perforce server. Our remote office has their
own Perforce server. We also have a P4Proxy that points to our remote
office's server. Rather than forcing our users to keep track of two
separate connections, we'd like to map the P4Proxy in as a remote
depot on our local server.

Is this possible? What are the gotchas? If the network connection to
the remote gets particularly slow (which it can), will it drag down
our entire server? We're running P42005.1 currently.
