When it comes to backup strategies, do not mess around with creative
solutions. Creative solutions are unmaintainable going forward and prone
to breakage. Wait until 9 months from now when you can't understand a
why you have this strange multi server setup.
The fact that you asked the original post indicates that either you
haven't done your homework or have missed something in your initial
reading. Please spend the time to read, digest, and comprehend the
entire System Administrator's guide as well as the P4 User's guide; it
will make your Perforce experience much better. The SAG has an entire
chapter devoted to backup and restore methodologies. If after reading
the online materials you are still unsure of how things work, you might
consider a formal software training from Perforce.
