The easiest script to write and maintain is the one that you don't have to.  Since you're new to Perforce, there's a chance you may be wishing to script around some pain that caused by trying to impose old workflow habits onto the new SCM.

So, before you choose a scripting language, bounce your ideas about what functionality you think you need to implement off a few Perforce/SCM/BuildSystem-saavy folks.

Is everyone at the site new to Perforce?  If not, ping them.  If so, ping this list.
