Hi David,

I was able to delete the client spec thru the UI

p4win -> clientspec -> view client spec

then , clientspec -> delete <client_name>

I tried using the p4 command line options, and I ran all the commands you had listed and the output was ok. But I got the same error when I ran "p4 client -df client_name".

D:\>echo %P4CLIENT%

D:\>p4 login
Enter password:
User xxx logged in.

D:\>p4 login -s
User xxx ticket expires in 167 hours 59 minutes.

D:\>p4 info
server address was ok

D:\>p4 client -df BAND0
You don't have permission for this operation.

D:\>p4 revert //...
//... - file(s) not opened on this client.

D:\>p4 client -df BAND0
You don't have permission for this operation.

I am i missing something here ?

Thanks to all

Let's check a few basics...

Are you actually logged into the machine? Type in "p4 info" and see.
Check the first field "User name:" and see if that's your user. Also
check the "Server Address:" field and make sure you're pointing to
your Perforce server. Then, type "p4 login -s". This will tell you if
you are actually logged in.

If you are logged in, and your user name is correct, and you are
pointing to the correct Perforce server, you may have to first revert
the files opened on that client -- although I would suspect that the
"-f" flag should allow you to. However, the "-f" flag may only work
for administrators.

    $ p4 revert //...
    $ p4 client -d client_name

The other thing you should check is to make sure you didn't lock the
client to prevent it from being modified. Check the "Options:" field,
and make sure that "unlock" is set, and not "lock".
