Broad Content of the Role 
The Delivery Management team is responsible for the continuous evolution, 
authorisation and delivery of all Symbian OS products. It is the driving 
force behind the successful implementation of functional growth in the 
system, while ensuring that delivery expectations, both internally and 
externally, are aligned. It is responsible for the interface between 
Symbian?s Software Engineering and its customers. 

There is now a requirement to appoint an Engineers working in the area of 
Defect and Configuration Management to support the Defect and 
Configuration Management activities within Delivery Management. This is a 
hands-on, technical role operating in a complex environment with multiple, 
diverse stakeholders.
 
Key Tasks 
Defect Management & Configuration Management:

Ensure the security and integrity of the Defect Management system and 
associated data. 
Ensure the security and integrity of the Configuration Management System 
and asocicated data. 
Shared responsibility for the day to day administration of the Defect 
Management & Configuration Management tools (eg. workflow, user 
administration, server performance monitoring, improvement) 
Responsible for maintaining and monitoring process and workflow. 
Provision of support and consultation to all tool users. 
To provide user training on the Defect Management Tool (Team Track) and 
processes. 
To provide user training on the Configuration Management Tool (Perforce) 
and processes. 
Process and system improvement 
Deputising for defect / configuration management engineers 
Design, implementation and production of SWE metrics around both Defect 
and Configuration Mgmt data 
Able to plan and manage in a demanding environment. 
Must have good scripting skills ideally in perl / python, additional 
scripting skills a bonus. 

Degree educated in a numerate or computer related discipline 
4 or more years experience in a Software Engineering environment
Configuration and Defect Management experience
