Hello,
Sorry for the delayed response, you know how it goes. I have one way
integration between TTP to Perforce. Bidirectional has not been
possible due to internal issues on how state should be propagated back
to TTP.
Here are my some of the issues that I ran into:
1. I could not ever get the SOAP interface to work correctly, using
either Python or Ruby. Their tech support was not very helpful here
either. In all fairness I am not a SOAP guru so it may be a user issue
and not a technical issue.
2. We have hijacked some of the tables so that they do not contain the
data that was originally in them, thus complicating the extraction of
the data, as it does not match the schema.
3. Even with the schema and field definitions I have had to spend a
bunch of time creating TTP issues, and then changing various field
contents to see where data actually lands, particularly with custom
fields.
All that said I have less than 80 hours total time into the Python
script and it works well at this point in time. We auto-import the data
every 30 minutes into Perforce. While TTP is a good tool I am pushing
us to switch to Jira, as we are using it internally for other task
tracking.
Hope that helps.
