[p4] Can I preserve executable status of a file?

>From the CLI, when using add, edit, or reopen, you can specify the -t
<filetype> flag and use "xtext" as your file type.  I'm assuming an
interpreted text script (not compiled, as in a .pyc).

Example, if it's already open:
p4 reopen -t xtext <script name>

Use "p4 help filetypes" for more info.

I don't know much about the P4V/P4Win side of the house.

I have a file in my perforce depot "foo". Foo is, in fact, an exectuable
script. Is there a way to tell perforce that "foo" should have its
executable bit set to true (on unix) ?
