That's why I have the monitor page bring in other data, such as 'vmstat'
in the Unix world. That, along with a time stamp on the 'p4 monitor'
display, can at least tell users that the server is under a heavy load, even
when the 'p4 monitor' part shows that it was last updated a long while back.
With a little more JavaScript magic in your page, and you can report some
nice text to say the server is under a high load when the time stamp is too
old.
