I've been using the P4SCC plugin with VS2003 and 2005 for a number of
years, and haven't really had any problems with it. The only issues
I've had is with VS2003 (not 2005) where I've got visual studio to work
offline and then reconnect. This takes a few minutes to reconnect
everything. VS2005 has resolved this problem.

Admittedly the first thing I normally do is to change the binding
settings from the default to 'Bind to the workspace that matches your
Perforce settings' as I've found that it is more reliable for me.

In terms of solution size I have about 100 projects in the solution.
