[p4] Problems with 2006.1 Win2003Server and VistaClient known?

Robert is right about the debug logging being valuable to see what  
the service is doing.
But the "and security packages" is what raises my suspicions.  Does  
this for example include a virus scanner with on-access scanning?   
You may find you are being slowed down if such a scanner is  
monitoring your database files.  You might find utilities like  
filemon useful to verify that sort of thing.  I have found that some  
virus scanners get in the way of certain file accesses even when you  
believe you've configured them not to.
