[p4] How to get user private branches

The general wisdom is that Perforce branches are light-weight, so you don't
need to do sparse branching. For most installations this is correct and
sufficient.
If you have a large code base, a large number of developers and an
aggressive branching strategy, the metadata volume you'll get in Perforce
might suggest sparse branching. You can do it with "+" mappings in your
client specs. The tools to make it simple and straightforward aren't really
publicly available, but that may change. Robert Cowham has written some
thoughts on sparse branching on his blog at
http://robertcowham.com/blog/scm/p4_sparse_branching.html.
