I have followed your steps and played around.
I found that Eclipse put a red-check on the top right corner after I made some changes without checking-in. However, after I reversed the changes to match the original file in the repository, the red-check didn't go away.
Is there away to make it go away if the local file is in-sync with file in the repository?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Hei

I believe that label decorators are not on by default with P4WSAD. We tell our developers to do the following after installing the p4 plugin:
Eclipse -> Preferences:
General → Appearance → Label Decorators, enable Perforce
Team → Perforce, configure as desired
To set the perforce status icons to the same as you’d see in P4V or P4Win, Team → Perforce → Label Decorators → File Decorator Icons:
Indicators for files open for add/edit/delete = top left
Indicators for files synced to head = bottom right
Indicators for files not synced to head = bottom right
Indicators for unresolved files = bottom left
Indicators for locked files = bottom left
Indicators for files open in other workspaces = top right
