[p4] Indicator for Modified Files on Eclipse?

The red check mark shows that the file has been "opened for edit" in
Perforce terminology (i.e. "checked out").

The way to "undo checkout" (i.e. remove the marker) is to select the
"revert" option. The status of being checked out is independent of whether
the file has actually been modified or not. You can revert either using
Eclipse plugin or P4V.
