[p4] Problems importing projects in RAD6 with p4 plugin

I'm using RAD6.0.1, with the latest Perforce plugin (2006.2.4136).  I
have a workspace in one directory tree, and my project is shared with
perforce, which is stored in my client view, which isn't inside my
workspace.  I've been working with this setup for quite a while.

Because of an unrelated bug with RAD in re-generating a web service java
bean skeleton, I've decided to try creating another workspace (Rational
Support has no clue on my problem) and reimport everything, to get back
to where I was.

In the old workspace, I used a RAD construct called a "Project
Interchange File" to export my project.  I then switched to the new
workspace and imported the project from the PIF.  I then shared the
project with Perforce (the PIF apparently doesn't store that notion).
At that point, I discovered that although it appeared to be connected to
Perforce, when I tried to view the Perforce details of the files, it
thought that none of them were Perforce-controlled.

With respect to the Perforce plugin (or anything else, if you can think
of it), is there something I can do to fix this?
