[p4] p4v custom tools - auto-update trick?

Hi folks. I'm working on customizing the p4v "custom tools". I've heard
that it's possibly to configure a tool to auto-update the p4v tools menu
itself. That is, let's say the latest tools configuration ("tools.xml")
is in some publically available location. Is there a way to have a
custom tool actually fetch that "latest" xml file and import it into
p4v?
