[p4] Is it possible to create soft links in the p4 depot and when you apply a label, the label gets applied to the real file

Hi,

 

My company is using the latest version of Perforce 2007.2. I would like
to know if it is possible to create soft links in the p4 depot and when
you apply a label, the label gets applied to the real file.

 

To illustrate, assume that my depot is as below:

 

Host

            X

            Y

Driver

            A

            B

            Z

 

I want to label the Driver folder with a tag "MyProjectOct17" and I want
the label to get applied to the file X also which is in a different
folder. If I create a soft-link for X in the Driver folder and apply the
label to the Driver folder, the label will be applied to files A, B, Z,
and X. The question is, doe perforce support this and if yes, what is
the method to:

 

a.	Create soft-link in the depot
b.	Apply label to the soft-link so that it gets propagated to the
real file.
