If you do, you'll have to replace it with %23 to refer to it.
(See the command reference under File Specifications.)
# is a reserved character in Perforce. Of course, it's also
meaningful to a number of shells and environments and may
truncate the file name if you're not careful since it usually
indicates the beginning of a comment.
