[p4] Removing end of line character from files in entire source tree

could you be a little more precise about the source files, and why the 
final newline is a problem?  It seems to me that all files that consist 
of lines of source code should terminate with an end of line character, 
since each line itself should (some compilers complain if the final line 
of a file has no trailing newline, so this is feasible, but undesirable, 
per those compiler writers).
