Has anyone successfully used Perforce with Microsoft Access? Not just
checking in and out the MDB file, but using the "Source Code Control"
Access Developer Extension (plug-in) that Microsoft provides. I am SOO
close to making it work. I can add the database to Perforce and create a
new local copy of the database from Perforce. Just after creating a new
local copy of the database from Perforce I can successfully check-in and
check-out the objects in the database, but as soon as I close out of the
database and open it back up Access gives the following error message and
disables the source-code control features: "Another user (greg.bakker) has
placed this database under source code control and is the only person who
should work with it. Source code control features will be disabled." It
looks like Access is failing to pass my user name to Perforce.
I am using the Perforce P4SCC tool. I am running Microsoft Access 2007. I
realize that Perforce doesn't officially support Microsoft Access but
Microsoft says that their "Source Code Control" plug-in is supposed to work
with any source code control software that supports the Microsoft SCC API
(from the Perforce website, it looks like P4SCC does).
Thank you,
Greg Bakker
