[p4] unix copying a depot

Can I unix copy an existing depot to a new location and start a new  
p4d daemon on a different port and start working with it? Are there  
any absolute path issues I might run into?

I just want to run some tests on this depot copy, can i just use the  
free 2 license version of p4 to do my trials? There are 12 clients in  
the original depot that i copied. Is it possible to just delete those  
12 and add a couple of new ones to play with?
