Perforce Applications Administrator

 

Summary of Position: 

Responsible for the daily administration and management of several key
production applications. Position will begin with Perforce
administration responsibilities in reviewing and architecting corporate
Perforce needs across Lucasfilm divisions.  

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 

*         Work with divisions to transition from other SCM software to
Perforce.

*         Ensure seamless Perforce work flow between divisions / groups
within the Lucas companies.

*         Train internal staff on application usage and best practices,
as well as how to apply it to a division's work flow.

*         Be responsible for auditing and securing end user access to
the Perforce infrastructure, as well as day to day adds moves and
changes to the Perforce Infrastructure.

*         Be responsible for long term Perforce Roadmap implementation
within the Lucas companies, including upgrades on both client and server
level, and automation.

*         Be responsible for ensuring high availability uptime for all
Perforce servers in the Enterprise, including / ensuring:

*         Scheduling and executing maintenance plans to ensure maximum
performance.

*         Monitoring and maintaining the software and data repositories.

*         Ensuring Disaster Recovery Plans and processed are well
documented and validated.

*         Reporting on performance metrics, system usage and planning
for long term growth.

*         Diagnosing system issues, bottlenecks and root cause of
problems, as well as resolution.

*         Work with Perforce to resolve issues and suggest features and
long term view for improving perforce performance.

*         Work as main point of contact in addressing and resolving
workflow related issues in the application.

*         Administrate other workflow applications as either primary or
secondary contact as needed (TBD)

 

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

 

*         Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

*         3 years enterprise level support of Perforce.

*         Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability
to effectively interact throughout all levels of an organization. 

*         Programming skills in administrative languages, shell
scripting, and PERL is required.

*         Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. 

*         Professional and friendly service-oriented demeanor with
co-workers and customers. 

*         Self-motivated energetic team player who can work alongside
others to maximize team performance. 

*         Solid decision-making, problem solving, and organizational
skills. 

*         Proactive and willing to complete unassigned tasks and take on
tasks beyond job scope.
