[p4] Command line client for VMS Itanium?

Hi, Chris --

How are things going? It's been awhile.

Can you mount your workspace areas from a supported system and manager your
workspaces from there?

The problem with most client APIs (Perl, Python, Ruby, COM) is that they
rely on the underlying Perforce C++ API for the protocol, which requires a
port from Perforce. The new P4Java API, which was just released in beta,
has the protocol reimplemented in pure Java. If you have a Java
implementation for OpenVMS, you may be able to use that to implement a tool
to do what you want. I've played with the API and it's pretty
straight-forward to use.

I need a p4 client for OpenVMS on an Itanium. What are my options? Is
the client server protocol documented anywhere? Is there a Python/Perl
implementation? I don't need a full blown client, just the typical
add/edit/delete/submit commands.

I've spoken to Perforce, but I don't think they have much interest in
this (can't say I blame them).

Thanks,
Christopher Helck
